All you have to do is hit one bump and you’ll be bouncing all over the place. This is because in order to cut the springs you need to heat them up. and when you do that the springs will never be the same again. My advice is to just buy some drop springs or drop control arms if you want to get really low.

Let’s face it, you can for almost no money, either heat or cut coil springs. Torsion bars are even easier. Its so tempting, too many people have either turned back their torsion bars, or cut their springs and tried to live with it, only to finally say “I can’t take it anymore”.

It looks like the spring cup can fit the spring if I cut a coil off the top of the moog springs. The reason being that the moogs are stiffer and should fix the problem if they were shorter.

Cutting the coil springs is not a good idea, it will effect the ride and handling very badly. You can buy coil springs with the same amount of “spring” but 2″ shorter. You should also change the shocks to match.

A coil spring can have 2 of the same ends or it can have 2 different ends. The only coil springs that can be safely cut are coil springs with tangential ends. Because Square ends and Pigtail ends are designed to make full contact with their mounting points, they would have to be re-shaped after they were cut.
